Parents. Your input is vital to your child’s musical success. Your encouragement and interest will be invaluable in ensuring your child’s progress. Practice Regular daily practice is of paramount importance for a student to make progress. Suitable times must be set aside to develop good habits. Please discuss this with your teacher. Plan It is essential that your child bring all material to every lesson. Listening Take time to listen to your child and give them every opportunity to play for friends and family. Expose your child to music appreciation, source instrumental music including the instrument on which they learn. Music appreciation is like opening a door into a new world. Music Examinations Practical and Theory examinations are available for students regularly every year. All teachers at Booval School of Music are qualified to prepare students for either practical and/or theory examinations from Preliminary through to L.Mus.A. Consultation with the teacher is essential for exam preparation. In-House Music Examinations Practical examinations designed to prepare students for AMEB/Trinity College Preliminary levels. Full reports issued by qualified examiners. Eisteddfod Preparation The Ipswich District holds 2 Eisteddfods each year. Students are encouraged and prepared to participate in the instrumental and vocal sections.
