Practice
Regular daily practice is of paramount importance for a student to make progress.� Suitable times must be set aside to develop good habits.� Please discuss this with your teacher.

It is essential that your child bring all material to every lesson.��
Listening
Take time to listen to your child and give them every opportunity to play for friends and family.� Expose your child to music appreciation, source instrumental music including the instrument on which they learn.� Music appreciation is like opening a door into a new world.
Music Examinations
Practical and Theory examinations are available for students regularly every year.� All teachers at BSM are qualified to prepare students for either practical and/or theory examinations from Preliminary through to L.Mus.A.�� Consultation with the teacher is essential for exam preparation.
In-House Music Examinations
Practical examinations designed to prepare students for AMEB/Trinity College Preliminary levels.� Full reports issued by qualified examiners.�
Eisteddfod Preparation
The Ipswich District holds 2 Eisteddfods each year.� Students are encouraged and prepared to participate in the instrumental and vocal sections.�
